The planning for the 2021 Art Directors Guild Awards is well underway for the April 10 event, and this year the ceremony will be a competely online livestream event open to all members of the Guild. Production Designer Scott Moses, who is serving as the ADG Awards Committee Chair and producer of the event, working along with Awards and Events Director Debbie Patton, explains the importance of continuing the event even during these challenging times. "The Committee is honored to celebrate the hard work of those who risked themselves to bring information, entertainment and a mental distraction for so many during a global crisis. We will show both our resilience what we must overcome to bring this gift to the world." Along with recognizing the eff orts of designers and Art Departments for productions that have been released over the past year, the show will look back over the 25-year history of the awards, and will focus on both the talent and the versatility of ADG members over that time. The virtual nature of the event will allow members, their families, Art Department collegues, industry professionals, media and other interested viewers to attend the event safely from anywhere in the world. The details of the presentation and acceptance of the awards are still being worked out. The event will be made available through a dedicated website that will go live at the end of February.
