The Bike CeleBraTes sTars 4 By: Daniel Albert Over two hundred years ago this great country was declared on the 4th day of July in 1776. Ever since, the 4th of July has been a spirited celebration of all things American from Apple Pie to the colors red, white and blue. People gather their families together and celebrate with great foods served up hot off the grill, patriotic parades and especially fireworks. This year the Bicycle Casino has decided to make a few fireworks of their own and show off their patriotism with a July event that screams red, white and blue-- The Stars and Stripes Poker Series. This series of poker events will feature a host of great poker action and a welcomed respite from that hot summer sun during July. The Bike is known for having some of the most competitive poker events in all of California and this series will be no exception. Beginning on July 1st and continuing through July 14th the Stars and Stripes series at the Bike will host a group of events spanning many different games and pot sizes for the whole range of experienced players. No Limit Hold 'Em Tournament play is set to kick off on the first day of July at 6PM with a great opening event. The poker action will start with a No Limit Hold 'Em event where players can buy in for $70 plus a one time $10 fee and get a chance to win a guaranteed purse of $25,000. Play will continue with two re-entry events held on July 2nd and 3rd both of which will take place at 6PM. These re-entry events will have a buy-in of $100 plus a one time fee of $25 and guarantee $50,000 plus a spot at the final table Monday at 7PM. No Limit Hold 'Em Turbo For the actual 4th of July celebration, the Bike will raise the energy level another notch with their No Limit Hold 'Em Turbo event. Each player will receive 4,000 in tournament chips for a $60 buy in plus a $10 fee and the option of 1,000 Bonus Chips Available for $5. Since this is a turbo event, play will consist of quick 20 minute levels, the antes increasing with each level. This fast paced event will play host to some of the most exciting play the entire series so beat the heat on the 4th and stop by. No Limit Hold 'Em Bounty Tournament July 5th will switch things up again with a No Limit Hold 'Em Bounty Tournament. Players who buy in for $150 plus a $20 fee will get the chance to play not only for top honors, but also additional money for bounty they collect. That means every opponent knocked out is worth extra cash! This event will begin at 6PM and is always a local favorite. If you can't make it out to this event, the Bike offers another bounty event on July 13th. Deepstack Events The 6th at 6PM will mark the start of the Bike's first of many Deepstack events. Players are given $15,000 in starting chips for a buy-in of $100 plus a one time $20 fee. Deeper stacks means better odds for all who enter, so make sure you make it out for this event. If you can't there will be another Deepstack event on the 11th and a final one on the 14th.
