Abrams-directed Star Trek film, Star Trek Into Darkness. The 12th film in the franchise was shot in 2D and converted to 3D stereoscopic by Stereo D. In addition, almost half the film was shot in IMAX, notably exteriors and action sequences. ILM teams in San Francisco and Singapore handled work on 500 of the film's 1,700 VFX shots. While the studio was able to tap into and update existing assets, ILM made use of the Arnold renderer this time around.
