or controlled as Gilead. Gilead is all about control. In Toronto, there
is freedom and fellowship, a kind of chaos to everyday life. We work
to create that.
"Last year, we divided Toronto up into red brick or otherwise brick
places or white concrete cut stone places. We loosely called the latter
Washington and the former Boston Gilead. We didn't want to use up
a building as a Boston building that might be Washington because
they were scarce. Our challenge was to find Washington, D.C. in
Toronto. Toronto looks like New York and Boston, not Washington."
WHAT TO EXPECT IN SEASON 4
Season 4 is on everyone's mind. "For people who watched to the
end of Season 3, they know that June has crossed into not belong-
ing to the society of Gilead," Todd says. "Her world has completely
changed. She has left the Lawrence House behind. It's going to be an
interesting season for locations and the art department."
"In Season 4, there's a shift in the story, indicated at the end of
Season 3," Williams adds. "After June is shot in the last episode of
Season 3, we will move away from the Boston Gilead that we know
