LMGI COMPASS
|
Fall 2020
my truck, I couldn't survive without the constant reception
of satellite radio and Audible for audiobooks to pass the
time on the lonely road.
Stevie: WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE JOB?
PK:
I love meeting all the different characters we run across
IN MY CITY: AUSTIN
in our job. I especially love all the planning to create the
perfect orchestra of movement with our crew, locations,
base camps and permits only to see it change last minute
and having to go to Plan B then Plan C and then have to do
it all over again the next day. But when everything works
out as planned, it's a beautiful thing.
Stevie: WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR
YOUNGER SELF OR SOMEONE JUST STARTING OUT IN THIS
PROFESSION?
PK:
Study something else besides film so you can diversify
your skill set and have something to fall back on if needed.
Also, always check your rear-view mirror, stop and capture
the moment when you see it because chances are you'll
never have time to come back.
Stevie: WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THE LMGI & HOW LONG
HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER?
PK:
I've been a member since 2015 after hearing about
the virtues of the organization from Nancy Haecker/LMGI
who I was working with on the ABC pilot The Catch. It just
seemed appropriate to join a group that celebrates what we
do for a living. It's a great way to connect and learn from
other members.
