With the cancellation of
Comic-Con International
due to the global COVID-19
pandemic, we were more
than happy to discover the
invitation for the LMGI to join
the "Comic-Con@Home"
online event.
Moderated by LMGI Vice
President John Rakich
(Shadowhunters, The October
Faction), this year's Zoom
panel highlighted the creative
work of our membership. The
Guild's international strength
was on display with members
from the United Kingdom,
Canada and both coasts of
the United States as featured
panelists. This year's Comic-
Con location professionals
were Emma Pill (1917,
Blade Runner 2049), James
Lin (Captain America: Civil
War, Avengers: Endgame),
Board member Jen Farris
(Constantine, Game Night),
Jeff Hunter (Star Trek: Picard,
The Last Ship) and Asha
Sharma (Guardians of the
Galaxy, Ready Player One).
This year's innovative sizzle
reel set the tone with our
most unique musical pairing
to date. It featured the
panelists' work, focusing on
before-and-after comparisons
of various locations. Our panel
then spoke at length about
the creative and logistical
challenges they've had in
their careers.
Our efforts were generously
sponsored by our LMGI
business partners: Big Bear
Lake Film Office, Inland
Empire Film Services,
Temecula Film Office and
Whites Location Equipment
Supply. A round of applause
for them, as well as a special
thanks to our panelists for
sharing their stories at this
event. We are grateful for all
the volunteers who helped
make it happen.
We're already planning next
year's panel, building on the
amazing success we've had
with Comic-Con. The 2021
event is sure to be even bigger
and better, regardless of the
format.

video can be viewed online at
