Business entrepreneur and convention marketing icon, Roy Jay hosts an annual invitation only reception which attracts hundreds of meeting professionals, politicians and business people. The reception attracts standing room only crowds each year. In 2012, special entertainment was Mary Wilson of the legendary "Supremes". The event is co-sponsored with participating sponsors each year and recognizes various local companies. Throughout the evening, guests are showered with $50 bills as door prizes for answering quick quiz questions. A lavish spread of food and a great atmosphere tends to get everyone excited. "I've been to many hospitality receptions and trade shows, but I have to admit that what Roy Jay and Oregon brings to the table is exceptional", said Melanie Griffith, a meeting planner's assistant for a large organization. Wilson belted out popular Motown hits of yesteryear and at one point invited women in the audience to come on stage to be her backup singers while doing a Supremes medley. Jay has not indicated who he has planned for Fall 2013, but promises it will be memorable and entertaining. He indicates that other convention bureaus , convention centers and hotels have expressed interest in a joint venture co-sponsor opportunities.
