The White Harte Pub THE mEssaGE Pierre and Golriz Moeini and Doug Turner, maintain that this bedroom community in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley needs an old-style English pub. Pierre and Doug are soc- cer players, so bringing local players in for a pint after the game is a natural, while fi sh ‘n chips and shepherd’s pie are menu musts. Décor is rendered authentic by the prized stuffed deer (aka harte) and other immortalized hunters’ trophies that stare at customers from perches. Golriz designed the outside of the menu in newsletter form, with retro photos and clever captions. “Pubs are a place to visit as an unplanned destination,” she tells THE TASTING PANEL. “Those of us who’ve graduated from the coffeeshop hangout want to step up to a more convivial environment.” “I Golriz Moeini welcomes her guests to The White Harte, an old-style English pub. t’s a quaint home away from home,” advises Golriz Moeini, the co-owner of Woodland Hills, CA’s The White Harte Pub. New proprietors of the venue, French Light laude Vialade, from Les Domaines Auriol, is an innovative French wine producer. Importer Luxe Vintages of Boca Raton, FL, is launching her newest project in the U.S.: So’Light Low Calorie/Low Alcohol Wines. “Claude has recognized the importance of healthier food and beverage choices and has worked with a top tech team in France to create this wonderful line of lighter wines,” says Luxe Vintages Managing Director Barbara Eden.
