IN MY CITY: PARIS
One thing leading to another, I finally had the chance to
meet an incredible passionate cataphile, who has written
several books on this subject, and who introduced me
to the quarries. While most of these "explorers" never
go in the tunnel network labyrinth without a map, this
enthusiast knew the underground network like the back of
his hand. He was also passionate about history and these
underground passages tell in their own way, the history of
Paris. Each of the visits was for me a fascinating lesson
of history. This experience will remain an unforgettable
memory and this movie was the first and so far the
only one that secured the permission to film in the
catacombs and in the quarries of Paris.
