M OT I O N P I CTU R E S O U N D E D I TO R S I 31 L-R: Mark Allen, Rickley Dumm, Sean Heissinger, Matt Taylor, and Art Rusis at the 2019 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Photo by Tracie Costabile there and on the lot. So editing wise not a lot has changed for me. What has changed and what I don't like about working at home is feeling like I'm out of sight, out of mind. I had so much information being in my office, like who was working on what, what shows were ending, who had shows coming up and now I don't know any of that information without making a phone call or sending a text. I feel like people are just gonna forget about you when you're not there, you know? PL: Is there anything else you want to share with our MPSE audience? RD: I think the thing I want to emphasize the most is the collaboration with the Barry crew, and a couple of the people at Warner Bros. I get so much inspiration out of them. They share so much knowledge, equipment, software, sound effects, tips, and tricks. Just working with these editors I get better every show. I would be happy working with guys like Tim Farrell, Mark Allen, Jason King, and Ken Young, who I've learned so much from, for the rest of my days until I retire. Working with those guys is what truly inspires me. PL: Thank you so much for taking the time today and it's so nice to meet you. I'm so happy that such a nice guy won an Emmy and MPSE award. RD: This was a lot easier than I thought! Thank you for making it so easy.
