NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SALES The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) continues its strategic growth of its organizational struc- ture by announcing Eric Blanc, Sr., CMP as its Assistant Director of Sales. With more than 25 years of experience in event management and convention center sales, Blanc will oversee the strategic planning and selling of the OCCC as it embarks on its $605 million North-South Building expansion. Most recently, Blanc was the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Convention Services at the Tampa Convention Center, where he has spent 15 years of his career. He held various positions during his time there including Event Services Supervisor and Senior Events Coordinator. Blanc's background spans across various top organizations in the industry including The Freeman Companies and GES Expositions, where he was a National Sales Manager for both companies. "Eric's expertise and knowledge of the convention industry will be a won- derful asset to the Center," said OCCC Deputy Director Yulita Osuba. "We are confident that he will provide a fresh perspective as we prepare for one of the largest con- struction initiatives in the history of the OCCC." Blanc graduated from Florida State University with a bach- elor's of science degree in Business - Marketing and holds a certificate from the IAAM Public Assembly Facility Management School at Oglebay. The OCCC is on the brink of great growth and transforma- tion, with a $605 million Capital Improvement Plan for two Campus Master Plan projects on the horizon. Throughout her career, Burroughs has also helmed local and regional sales and marketing teams for Savoy Suites & Carlyle Suites Hotel; Fairmont Hotel, and The Hilton Arlington Hotel & Renaissance Hotel, all in Washington DC; as well as the O'Callaghan Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland.
