SOUND LIBRARIES www.postmagazine.com 37 POST JAN/FEB 2020 SPITFIRE AUDIO RELEASES NEW ALBION NEO LONDON — Spitfire Audio (www.spitfireaudio.com) announces "Albion Neo", the company's newest release in its bestselling Albion series. "Albion Neo" features sample libraries and virtual instruments as a mod- ern cinematic collection centred around a chamber-sized orchestra with an intimate string section split across all articulations to offer anyone access to the techniques captured in the Hall at London's AIR Studios. The new collection was created with the accompaninent of a range of progressive synths, loops and textures totalling over 300 curated presets to address a cultural shift in orchestral music and film scoring spurred by a demand for a closer, more emotive, hybrid sound suited to TV, film and beyond. According to co-founder and composer Christian Henson, the film scoring landscape is constantly evolving. With the rise of streaming platforms, TV shows and independent films are just as big as blockbust- ers, and directors are now looking for closer, more emotive, sophisticat- ed soundscapes. "With 'Albion Neo', we go back to the very heart of Spitfire," he says. "And that is — small is more powerful…packs a greater emotional punch…especially if you put small in a great big hall like AIR Studios." "Albion Neo" is now available. ALIBI MUSIC AND FULL SAIL UNIVERSITY COLLABORATE ON PRODUCTION MUSIC & SOUND EFFECTS LOS ANGELES — Alibi Music Library (www.alibimusiclibrary.com) and Full Sail University (FullSail.edu) (photo, left) are collaborating to bring students high-quality music and sound effects to enrich their coursework throughout various programs within the university's Visual Arts and Audio Arts Bachelor's degrees. As of January, the university has been allowing access to the same ex- tensive Alibi catalogs that serve the film, TV, video games, streaming and adver- tising industries, thanks to the grant of a special educational license. The multi- year deal, which makes Alibi one of the primary music library sponsors to Full Sail, includes the Alibi Music, Alibi FX and Alibi Orange catalogs. With over 11,000 tracks (plus alt mixes and stems), the Alibi Music catalog has been used to promote such notable projects as the blockbuster film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the HBO documentary Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season, and the top-selling video game Apex Legends. Alibi Sound FX, with 6,000 tracks, was used in trailers for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Terminator: Dark Fate. The Alibi Orange catalog features tracks formatted especially for use in video games. Full Sail students will be able to use Alibi's music and sound effects catalogs for their non-commercial school projects involving everything from film, social media, Websites and mobile apps, to broadcasts, podcasts and more. "Providing our students with industry standard tools has always been a part of our curriculum structure," says Dana Roun, director of audio programs at Full Sail University. "The inclusion of the Alibi music library will be beneficial to our students as they expand their industry knowledge and refine their skill sets. We are excited to see the next wave of creative projects that come out of our Film and Audio degree programs utilizing Alibi."
