Summerville has been promoted to Senior Director of Tax Revenue with the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB). Previously, Summerville was the Director of National Accounts in the LRCVB's sales department where she promoted Little Rock as a place to host national conferences, meetings and events for multicultural and religious markets. As the Senior Director of Tax Revenue, Summerville will oversee the collection of the city's Advertising and Promotion Commission (A & P) tax. "We're excited to have Kasey move to the tax department," said LRCVB President & CEO Gretchen Hall. "She's been great at devel- oping relationships and servicing clients; with her past experience, she will be a perfect fit in her new role," she added. Prior to joining the LRCVB in 2017, Summerville served eight consecutive terms spanning nearly 15 years as Arkansas's Clark County assessor, where she managed real estate and personal property taxes. In 2005, she earned the distinguished Arkansas Assessor of the Year award. In 2008, former Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe appointed her to the State Land Information Board where she served eight years. Notably, Summerville was recognized in 2007 as one of "20 to Watch" in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette — the state's largest news- paper — Tri-Lakes Edition. Summerville has served on multiple committees and boards including: Clark County NAACP life member; Arkadelphia's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration planning committee member; Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow; and National Association of Black County Elected Officials member. She has also authored and self-published Bridges and Footstools: 365 Days of Wisdom to Help You Live, Learn and Grow, a collection of inspirational and motivational quotes. "I'm looking forward to serving as Senior Director of Tax Revenue. This important responsibility will provide an opportunity for me to build upon my current knowledge of Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau and combine it with my 15 years of working in the field of public tax," said Summerville. "I look forward to working with leadership to continue to build upon the processes and efficiency that currently exist to ensure we are optimally operating in accordance with the rules and regulations outlined for the department. In addition, providing professional service to both internal and external constituency will be an important facet of my job," she added.
