interview an entirely new crew, a lot of whom spoke very little English. The Czech film industry is a very old and well-developed one and the technicians who work there are world class. I jumped into the unknown right into the hands of a great team. I think my favourite scenes were the ones shot in the snow. The production went back to Prague to shoot a few pickups and to get some shots of snow-covered sets. One such pickup was a ruined bombed-out town that had to match a very dry summer's day shot almost a year before. The location was found and the work had been done, the weather had been mild in the city, and then a couple of days before the shoot, it snowed heavily. The Art Department and locations shoveled and watered this huge site for days hoping the weather would stay good, while also hoping that the 'wintertime' location in the adjacent field would stay snowy. In the end, both looked terrific. ADG H. BATTLE SEQUENCE. SOME OF THE MORE DESTROYED PARTS OF TOWN WERE FILMED AT A COUPLE DESERTED FACTORIES. SET PHOTO. I. JOJO'S TOWN, WINTER.
