DaVinci Resolve is used for color grading. Gareth Cook the colors and making sure that certain colors from that time are accentuated and certain colors not of that time are not accentuated. So, for example, you might have kitchens back then that may have had a color refrigerator, which today, they are stainless steel or black." Cook completes the color grade in a DaVinci Resolve, which he says is his "main color tool of choice. I really like the color science behind it, which really helps me create the desired look for the show." According to Goch, The Foundation tries to conform shows as much as possible on the same tools on which the creative edit was completed. Mixed-ish, which is delivered in HD, was cut on Avid. "So, we do the conform on the Avid," he says. "Then we do the finishing and final deliverables on Autodesk Flame, and we do that because we have a DPX-based pipeline after color. We can update the shots into the DPX sequence, so when things are updated in color they are instantly available to me through the Flame, since I am linked to the frames on the SAN. The Flame also allows me to do very fast, quick touchups, like quick paint outs or pixel hits. They're all super fast to do in the Flame.
