S E P T E M B E R / O C T O B E R 2 0 1 9 | P E R S P E C T I V E 1 9 Sicily Stull, daughter of Production Designer Christopher Stull, is a graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School. Sicily will be attending Louisiana State University, majoring in political science and psychology. She has her sights set on pursuing a law degree. Sicily (whose name was inspired by her parents' trip to that beautiful island) was responsible for founding the debate club at her high school. She would eventually become the club president. She led her team to the Louisiana State Championship where they ranked third overall. Her team has come to dominate the Louisiana debate circuit. Sicily also became president this past year of a service organization, 'Interact Club.' Its focus is to provide mentoring and tutoring to a nearby elementary school. Six students in her club regularly helped with gardening and STEM prepping for testing. Sicily says this also helped her prepare for her own school testing. Other clubs Sicily belonged to included Film Club and Habitat for Humanity Club. She somehow found time to participate in intramural basketball. Her team was able to make it to the school's finals, ranking first overall. Sicily knows she worked extremely hard in a very competitive high school. Her grades and testing proves her correct. She also knows she has the gift of being able to motivate others toward a common goal, benefiting the community. This positive personality trait will serve her well at Louisiana State University and later in life. We are pleased to present her with this ADG/Richard Stiles Scholarship Award. We wish her only the BEST life has to offer going forward.
