Recap of the WEA Summer Organizing Association Retreat (SOAR) WEA members from around the state met in Jackson Hole June 7-9 to develop their leadership skills and plan for the next school year. The WEA Summer Organizing Association Retreat (SOAR) was introduced as a way to bring a variety of WEA members together - bus drivers to college faculty, custodians to certifi ed teachers - to positively aff ect public education in Wyoming. These members shared their fi rsthand experiences as educators and engaged in deep conversations about how to help our schools meet the needs of all of our students in Wyoming. At this conference, participants heard from NEA and WEA staff ers, shared stories from their locals and began to create plans to strengthen local associations.
