Deciding that rum���s trajectory was headed up, they co-founded Atlantico Rum in 2008. ���We felt that the premium rum category was the most underdeveloped and probably the most underappreciated spirits category, especially when it has such a rich history,��� says Azqueta. ���It had kind of gotten lost during the past decades,��� adds Lieb. ���Nothing frustrated us more than walking into retail spaces and bars and seeing 20 different types of vodka, 20 different types of tequila, and only two or three rums.
