This year's event showcased director Mina Shum, who discussed her feature film Meditation Park. RESOURCES FOR VETERANS S AG-AFTRA Executive Vice President and New York Local President Rebecca Damon and members of the Military Personnel and Families Support Committee held a panel on Aug. 9 at the New York office, sponsored by Veterans in Media & Entertainment. Veterans who work in or are interested in working in the entertainment industry learned about opportunities and resources available to them through SAG-AFTRA and other support organizations. The convention brought together delegates of affiliate unions to celebrate labor victories and reaffirm solidarity. STATE OF VOICEOVER T he New York Local hosted an Aug. 28 video conference for SAG-AFTRA's voiceover community that was shared across the country. Chief Economist David Viviano presented a report on the state of the commercials voiceover industry, and staff from the Commercials Department answered questions and discussed ways the #AdsGoUnion campaign is working to keep this specialized work under the union umbrella.
