THE MESSAGE Whether THE TASTING PANEL goes to the brand execs or the brands call us, there is an abundance of news to report, from the latest releases to behind-the-scenes experiences with some of the world’s most infl uential importers, winemakers, distillers . . . well, you name it. Brief Encounters Writer’s Camp cocktail classic in the making, The Modern Mixologist. Tony, the mastermind behind the cocktail program at Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, joined forces with some of San Francisco’s best and brightest cocktail stars for the event. With jaw-dropping views and some of the biggest names on the local scene, books sold out quickly, and the line for autographs wrapped around the dance fl oor. Proceeds from the signing went to the USBG San Francisco chapter’s Bartender’s Relief Fund. And yet another cocktail fashionist was in San Fran for W a book signing as H. Joseph Ehrman and his staff at Elixir welcomed cocktail legend Dale DeGro≠ for a night of delectable libations.
