The event came to an end on Sunday June 24th, in grand style; the teams were fired up and anxiously awaited the judge's final results. When the dust cleared, Chef Randie Anderson did it again, bringing home the gold for the Caribbean Ice Carver of the year and copped the bronze medal for Chef of the year. "The Montego Bay Convention is proud of Chef Randie. The culinary art asks for a lot of innovative skills. A great chef must be able to use their creative skill to provide guests with a renewed dining experience. SEYCHELLES TOURISM MINISTER TO LEAD DELEGATION TO REGION'S PREMIER TOURISM CONFERENCE Minister Alain St. Ange heads Three-Member Team & Will Speak at CTO State of the Industry Conference in St. Kitts 10-12 October 2012 The Seychelles tourism minister, Hon. Alain St. Ange, will lead a three member delegation to the Caribbean's leading tourism gathering, the Caribbean Tourism Organization's State of the Industry Conference in St. Kitts this October. Mr. St.Ange, who was appointed minister of tourism and culture in March of this year, will be accompanied by Raymonde Onezime, the special advisor to the minister for culture, and Elsia Grandcourt, the chief executive officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board. The minister, a former CEO of the tourism board, will play an active role in the CTO conference as a presenter in a session entitled, "Redefining the Role of National Tourist Offices." "Minister St. Ange is well-known among tourism circles as a creative thinker and practitioner who is particularly skilled in help- BM&T ••• ing to develop various countries' tourism potential. We are happy to have him come and share his winning strategies with us," said Hugh Riley, CTO's secretary general. Mr. St. Ange's tourism initiatives introduced during his tenure as CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board have been intensely studied by tourism officials around the African continent. He is also a sought after presenter at global tourism conferences. The State of the Industry Conference, which has as its theme, "Developing a Winning Tourism Strategy," will be held in St. Kitts from 10-12 October. It is billed as three days of provocative discussions and spirited debates about the biggest issues affecting the region's primary revenue earner. Organized in collaboration with the St. Kitts Ministry of Tourism and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, this conference brings together some of the industry's most creative thinkers and doers and is especially suited for ministers, commissioners and directors of tourism; hoteliers, tourism attractions, public officials and anyone with an interest in tourism.
