This year's theme "Diversity 4: Culture.Audience.Innovation.Leadership" overall purpose is to support and encourage industry professionals to lead and innovate at the speed of change according to the association. In addition to workshops and seminars, attendees will have the opportunity to explore career options in the media and entertainment sectors and learn about the latest technological solutions in the telecommunications industry. T he National Black MBA Association will host its 34th annual conference and exposition at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN from September 25-29, 2012. This year's convention will offer an array of workshops, seminars, networking opportunities as well as a career expo. More than 12,000 business professionals will unite to network and learn from some of the country's top industry leaders such as Georgette Borrego Dulworth, Chrysler Group, director - Talent Acquisition and Global Diversity, Daryl Mars, Wells Fargo, senior vice president and sales segment manager, Wealth Management, and Derick Halliman, owner and CEO of Lucid Enterprises, to name a few. Chemists and Chemical Engineers from across the country will come together to discuss the latest cutting edge advances in health, science and technology. Attendees will have access to some of the brightest minds and speakers in the industry. Events include technical sessions, professional development workshops, an undergraduate college fair, a science fair, a science bowl and a teacher's workshop to name a few. T he Association for the Study of African American Life and History will host their 97th annual convention at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Philadelphia, PA from September 26-30, 2012. This year's history theme is "Black Women in American Culture and History" showcasing the accomplishments of African-American women from the American Revolution to the present. Prominent historians, professors, activists and business leaders will discuss and celebrate the array of dynamic Black women of our time and their impact, contributions and sacrifices which helped to shape our America. The plenary sessions (open to the public) will harness the works and thoughts of some of the country's leading scholars on African-American culture, history and race. Speakers include: Bernice Johnson Reagon, leading scholar on African-American culture, Sonia Sanchez, international lecturer on Black culture and literature and a sponsor of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Mia Bay, associate director of the Rutgers Center for Race and Ethnicity and Crystal Feimster, assistant professor, Department of African American Studies at Yale, to name a few.
