From the high peaks of the Adirondacks to the white sand beaches of the Hamptons, New York's natural wonders offer family fun as well as top level business and meeting facilities, statewide, all summer long. New York's most famous warm- weather attractions, like Watkins Glen International, Niagara Falls, and Saratoga Race Course all belong on any summer bucket list. Thrill seekers will love flying down Hunter Mountain on North America's longest and highest zip line tour or taking on famous roller coasters including the Comet at the Great Escape and Coney Island's Cyclone. Those look- ing for a more serene summer day can float through Ausable Chasm or stroll across the Walkway Over the Hudson. • • NEW YORK • • New York City is the place to see and do everything—including some of the world's most famous events. The city's excitement, energy and value are unparal- leled. No matter the size, no matter your budget, no matter your needs, NYC is your one-stop shop for planning amazing meetings, trade shows, conventions and events. The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is one of the largest event venues in the United States, with the ability to create up to 11 halls from 814,400 total sq. ft. of exhibit space. The center also boasts 65,000 sq. ft. of dedicated regis- tration space. From Radio City Music Hall to Ellis Island, the City's venues are plentiful, beautiful and memorable. No matter your expectations, New York City has a venue to meet—and exceed—them. Hotel development is booming in NYC, with a projected 135,000 hotel rooms by 2019. With such formidable inventory, guest rooms can be found at every price point across all five boroughs. Puerto Rican-born Black scholar and bibliophile Arturo Alfonso Schomburg curated this important library—a national research center devoted to collecting and preserving documents that reflect the experiences of people of African descent throughout the world—until his death in 1938. The center's collection first won acclaim in 1926, and since then, it has grown to more than 5 million items. The legendary Apollo theater in Harlem debuted in 1914 as Hurtig & Seamon's New Burlesque Theater before being renamed and opened to African- American patrons in 1934. The Apollo launched the careers of luminaries like Ella Fitzgerald and Jimi Hendrix, and fea- tures two spaces for private events: the 1,500-seat Mainstage, which was com- pletely renovated in 2005, and the 1,680- sq. ft. Soundstage, a flexible space that can accommodate up to 225 attendees. Air travelers to New York City may arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or LaGuardia Airport (LGA), both in Queens, or Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in neighboring New Jersey. • • BUFFALO • • Buffalo's flexible meeting space, exceptional planning services, accessibili- ty, value and walkable downtown will make your next meeting or convention as popular as the city's world-famous chick- en wings. There has never been a better time to meet in Buffalo. The city has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years with over $1 billion in new investment, including a slate of new and renovated meeting facilities, hotels and restaurants • • • STATS • • • HOTEL ROOMS Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott/ NY Midtown-Penn Station 239 Renaissance New York Downtown 220 Wyndham New Yorker Hotel 1,000 The Plaza Hotel 282 Renaissance New York Midtown 348 Westin New York Grand Central 774 New York Hilton Midtown 1,931 EXHIBITION FACILITIES Jacob K.
