22 Meet Your 2018 Candidates Kim Amen (Seeking: WEA Treasurer) During my term as treasurer, I have worked with the program and budget committee to survey our members, establish strategic priorities, and bring our budget in line with our resources. I believe together we can continue to move our association forward. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our members and humbly ask for your vote for re-election. Dirk Andrews (Seeking: NEA Director) I want to be NEA Director to be an advocate for all the Wyoming public education employees. Public education is under attack and we need to stand up and push back. I will be a strong advocate for Wyoming in Washington, D.C. Vote Dirk Andrews for NEA Director! We are stronger together! Heidi Edmunds (Seeking: Southeast Region Cluster Delegate to NEA RA) WEA's value to faculty, staff, and students is tremendous, and I'd like the opportunity to continue facilitating strong connections with higher education. During difficult financial times, I have witnessed the advocacy and support that WEA provides its members. I would be honored to serve as the SER Cluster delegate to the RA. Elizabeth "Joy" Fawcett (Seeking: Southeast Region President) I am Joy Fawcett. I would like to represent and advocate for the working members of the SE Region as President. My qualifications include commitments to LCSD #1 where I attend school board meetings, am an affiliate of Policy Committee, a CTEA's Executive Board member and an active representative of CTEA's Human and Civil Rights committee for two years. Liz Merritt (Seeking: WEA Treasurer) Hello to each and every WEA member. I am Liz Merritt, second term CTEA president. I would like to represent you and work for the values you believe are important to the working members of WEA. What makes me qualified to be the WEA treasurer is my history of working for several companies as a bookkeeper. I understand how restricted funds and non-restricted funds work. Wanita "Kay" Pingree (Seeking: WEA Ethnic Minority Statewide Representative) I am eager to serve as the WEA Ethnic Minority Statewide Representative in a positive manner and effort. I will strive to empower our diverse Ethnic minority members throughout our Region through knowledge and benefits of the Wyoming Education Association. I've been employed at FCSD#21 for 21 years, in a variety of positions, currently Accounts Payable Specialist. Amy Simpson (Seeking: Southeast Region President) After 6 years as your NEA Director, I am dedicated to taking that experience and making our Region and the WEA the strongest it can be. Together we will work to organize and engage the members of the Southeast Region, growing membership and creating an environment for all members to feel welcome and involved. I humbly ask for your vote. Catherine Steinbock (Seeking: WEA Higher Education Statewide Representative) As a long time Eastern Wyoming College faculty member and WEA member, I look forward to the oppor- tunity to represent higher education faculty in the capacity of Higher Education Representative to WEA. I have attended many national, state, and local events to represent Wyoming educators. Educators are Wyoming's most valuable resource and they deserve advocacy and support state and nationwide. LeAnn Uhling (Seeking: Southwest Region Cluster Delegate to NEA RA) Over my 32 year teaching career, 29 in Wyoming, I've been a member of the local, state and National Association serving as building rep, local president, WEA board member, NEA RA delegate and presently a 2nd year appointment to NEA Resolutions Committee. I'm dedicated to working with local, regional membership, governance and staff to advocate for student and public schools. Candidate's statements were only edited for length and are as submitted.
