BRAND Say Hello to WAVE VODKA COMBINES COLOR, CREATIVITY AND STYLE FOR A REFRESHING LOOK AT VODKA Flavor! by Ariela Kozin / photos by Michael Reed W hen a new vodka breaks into the shores of the beverage industry it must separate itself from a sea of products with familiar bottling and flavor: Like an outrageous crash of water upon the sand, WAVE Vodka's eye-catching look and fun flavors make it hard to ignore. With seven matchless flavors including Whipped Cream, Pink Lemonade, Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Grape, Baja and Lemon Lime, WAVE is certainly hard to ignore. "The flavor profile of WAVE Vodka is clean and crisp—a very classic-style spirit, created to deliver optimal taste," says Tracey Clapp, WAVE Marketing Director. "In a world where great taste reigns supreme, WAVE delivers a memorable drinking experience that is always smooth and mixable," Clapp contin- ues. In fact, the experience is so memorable that WAVE drinkers couldn't get enough of the brand's five initial flavors: Soon after WAVE's introduction, the Baja and Lemon Lime expressions were offered to satisfy WAVE fans' desire for more. The two new flavors were created in a unique partnership between consumers and the marketing team: " They recommend flavors for us to explore and the market- ing team is always on the hunt for unique flavors that our consumer may not have even thought of. It's a combined effort," says Clapp. In addition to the punchy flavors, Clapp recog- nizes that the quality of the product at a reasonable price has also allowed WAVE to be such a show- stopper. At a suggested retail price of $8.99, WAVE over-delivers on value, while keeping consumer's bottom line in mind: "Our flavor quality is on par with or better than brands with much higher price points because we want to over deliver for our consumers," With consumers continuing to clamor for more ways to enjoy WAVE, this is one vodka that knows how to swim with the current: "Next up is Chocolate Covered Pretzel and future flavors are top secret for now, but there are several more to come," says Clapp. 124 / the tasting panel / november 2012
