An experienced visual effects artists, Davis has 27 years working behind the camera on more than 20 major feature films, including The Fugitive, Batman Forever, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Clash of the Titans, Edge of Tomorrow and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Throughout his career, Davis has received a number of industry accolades, including an Academy Award nomination for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight and a BAFTA for Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. JEN CADIC Dallas-based new media creative studio Flight School has promoted Jen Cadic to head of production. Cadic has a decade of experience in post production, pro- ducing a wide range of commercial, Web content, film, TV and music video projects for top industry compa- nies, including Charlex, Nice Shoes, Psyop and Reel FX. She joined Flight School as a producer upon its launch in January 2017 and steps up as the studio's first head of production to address the rapid growth of original IP and client projects, including the recent launch of their debut original VR experience, Manifest 99, which recently earned accolades at the Future of Storytelling and Raindance Film Festival. SYLVAIN LEBEAU Montreal, QC-based Folks announced that Sylvain Lebeau, a.k.a. Sly, is joining the studio as the new head of CG. The 20-plus-year veteran brings a wealth of experience to his new role and is well known in the industry for his leadership and his creative vision. Lebeau will lead the development and growth of Folks' CG department and help take the studio to the next level. Before joining Folks, Lebeau spent 12 years at Shed, a company he co-founded. Over the years he held multiple key roles, such as CG supervisor, VFX supervisor, on-set supervisor and mentor, leading artists on world class visual effects projects. ADAM BONKE, PAUL BASTIN Philadelphia, PA, and New York, NY, creative content company Alkemy X has added di- rector Adam Bonke (far left) and senior edi- tor Paul Bastin (immediate left) to its roster. Copenhagen-based Bonke has worked with such brands as Comcast, Coca-Cola, Nike, Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders. Bonke's career began in London's Soho, as an editor and compositor at post company Locomotion, later at Capital FX (now Deluxe), and then dis- covered directing. He's directed more than 80 commercials. Bastin brings 20-plus years of experience in post, having worked as an in- house editor and motion graphics animator at such companies as R/GA, Ogilvy and Mather and RadicalMedia. Bastin was most recently lead senior editor at digital agency R/GA. Prior to that, he was senior editor and motion graphics animator/designer at RadicalMedia. DEB OH Cross-pacific music and sound boutique Nylon Studios, with offices in NYC and Sydney, has hired Deb Oh as senior producer. Oh is a classically trained musician with nearly a decade of experience in the commercial music space, working as a music supervisor and producer on both the agency and studio sides. She comes to Nylon from Y&R, where she spent two years working as a music producer for some of the agency's top clients including Dell, Xerox, Special Olympics, Activia and Optum. Outside of the studio, Oh has continued to pursue her own personal musical pursuits, regularly writing and performing music with her band Deb Oh & The Cavaliers and serving as music supervisor for the Number 1 iTunes ranked podcast series, "Limetown." LOU PECORA Zoic Studios has added Academy Award-nominated Lou Pecora as VFX supervisor at its Culver City, CA, studio. Pecora has over two decades of experience in visual effects, working across commercial, feature film and series projects. He comes to Zoic from Digital Domain, where he spent 18 years working with top Hollywood directors on large-scale feature film projects as a visual effects supervisor and compositing supervisor. He has lent his talents to such top feature films as X-Men: Apocalypse; Spider-Man: Homecoming; X-Men: Days of Future Past; Maleficent; Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End; I, Robot; and several Transformers films. EDWIN METTERNICH Framestore has appointed colorist Edwin Metternich to lead the studio's color department in its newly-opened Chicago location. The Chicago team has been steadily growing with a series of high-caliber appointments since opening in May 2017. Metternich joined Framestore as a runner in 2007, moving quickly into the color team as an assistant and progressing into grading after only a few years. Metternich has been an integral part of the color department in the studio's London location, and has worked on a multitude of projects including Framestore's first video game VFX job, Guitar Hero Live, The Eye for Audi and frequent collaborations with award-winning agencies and production companies. TOBIN KIRK LA design and animation studio Laundry has brought on Tobin Kirk as executive producer. Kirk brings nearly 20 years of experience spanning broadcast design, main title sequences, integrated content, traditional on-air spots, branded content, digital and social. At Laundry, he will work closely with executive producer Garrett Braren on business development, as well as client and project management efforts. Kirk was most recently managing executive producer at Troika, where he oversaw all production. Prior to that, he spent nearly five years as executive producer at Blind, managing projects for Xbox/Microsoft, AT&T, Ancestry.com and Sealy Mattress, among others. As a producer, Kirk's diverse background is highlighted by such projects as the main title sequence for David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo at Blur Studio and commercials for Chrysler and Gatorade at A52.
