www.postmagazine.com 12 POST OCTOBER 2017 POST EMMY REPORT LOS ANGELES — The Television Academy present- ed its 69 th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last month, recognizing excellence in primetime program- ming and individual achievement for the 2016-2017 television season, broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on CBS. The Academy also presented its 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards in two separate ceremonies to honor outstanding artis- tic and technical achievement in television. Hosted by Stephen Colbert, the telecast featured 27 awards, with HBO as the top recipient, winning 19 Creative Arts Emmys and 10 Telecast Emmys (29 to- tal). Netflix was second with a combined 20 Emmys, and NBC came in third with 15 total. Saturday Night Live won a total of nine Emmy Awards; Big Little Lies and The Handmaid's Tale both received eight Awards.
