Grants This Charter to SAG-AFTRA Ken Howard, SAG-AFTRA Co-President Roberta Reardon, SAG-AFTRA Co-President Ned Vaughn, SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Amy Aquino, SAG-AFTRA Co-Secretary-Treasurer Matthew Kimbrough, SAG-AFTRA Co-Secretary-Treasurer for the purpose of a thorough organization of workers within the jurisdiction now granted, or as hereafter defined by decisions of conventions of the AFL-CIO, and for a more perfect federation of all trades, labor, and industrial unions affiliated with the AFL-CIO. Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists being duly formed and affiliated is empowered and authorized to initiate into its membership any person or persons in accordance with its own laws not in conflict with this charter and with the constitution, laws, rules and regulations of the AFL-CIO in convention made and as revised and amended from time to time. And to conduct the affairs of said union in furtherance of the best interest of the AFL-CIO and of labor in general. The integrity of the union shall be maintained and preserved and its autonomy secured. Provided, that the said union abides by the rights and limitations set forth herein, and conforms to the constitution, laws, rules and regulations of the AFL-CIO and as revised and amended from time to time, and in default thereof, or any part, this charter may be suspended or revoked according to the laws of this federation. And should the union herein chartered be dissolved (either by its own act or by act of this federation), suspended or forfeit this charter, then the persons to whom this charter is granted, or their successors, bind themselves to surrender the same with such other property as shall properly belong to this federation. And further, in consideration of the due performance of the above, the AFL-CIO does hereby bind itself to support SAG-AFTRA in the exercise of all its rights, privileges and autonomy as an affiliated union of the AFL-CIO as provided and set forth in the constitution, laws, rules and regulations of this federation and as revised and amended from time to time. In Witness Whereof, on behalf of, and as authorized by the Executive Council we have subscribed our name and affixed the seal of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations this First Day of August 2012. ____________________________________ RICHARD L.
