THE MOLECULE Bringing Creative Ideas to a New Reality Founded in 2005 as a small VFX shop, The Molecule is now a premiere creative facility specializing in Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, Virtual Reality, Experiential Design. They employ over 90 artists, producers, technical and administrative support at their New York City and Los Angeles studios. SPECIALTIES The Molecule is a trusted creative partner across multiple industries. Their VFX and Motion Graphics work has most recently appeared in award-winning TV series such as The Americans (FX), Ballers (HBO), Master of None (Netflix), House of Cards (Netflix), and Shades of Blue (NBC), and films such as Our Souls at Night (upcoming) and Doug Liman's The Wall. VR ON THE RISE The Molecule has also become a leader in the Virtual Reality industry. Because of their diverse areas of specialty, they are able to create custom and innovative VR experiences for their clients. This unique talent has made them one of the go-to studios for VR Production, Supervision and Post Production. PUSHING BOUNDARIES Working on unconventional and groundbreaking projects is The Molecule's specialty. Most recently The Molecule collaborated with The New York Times on Lincoln in the Bardo, a VR adaptation of George Saunders's best-selling novel. In VR space, the experience tells the story of a grief-stricken Abraham Lincoln who visits his dead son in the cemetery. Prior to that they worked on Invisible, one of the first scripted drama series for VR. The Molecule provided on-set supervision, stitching, Visual Effects, and CG animation to the five-part, action-packed series. Directed by Doug Liman, Invisible follows the story of a wealthy family with a supernatural secret. For Comic Con 2016, The Molecule designed an experience for the TBS booth. Visitors would place a Conan O'Brien head-shaped VR viewer over their heads, and interact with Conan Funko Pop! Figurines. The Molecule designed the app and menu, and they were also behind the CG animation, stitching, and compositing. IN THE LAB The Molecule is currently in their studio developing software and showpieces for their next push of VR magic, which will include gaming examples, installation examples, and new content to show off some of what they can do. They are putting the finishing touches on a VR experience that will instruct doctors on treating patients with a new medicine. And following the success of Lincoln In The Bardo, The Molecule is continuing their collaboration with The New York Times. As experts in new and emerging VR platforms and workflows, The Molecule has presented their recent work at SIGGRAPH 2017, NAB 2017 and the 2017 Visual Effects Society Bay Area Summit hosted at PIXAR. The Molecule team continues to create, build, and experiment. To stay in the loop, visit them at www.themolecule.com or follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Sponsored Content
