This class is based on the Feldenkrais Method, which teaches participants how to apply attention to exercise and everyday movements, and improves physical function and freedom of movement. Nurturing touch between you and your baby enriches the mind, body and spirit for both of you, thus helping your baby grow healthy and happy. You will learn a series of strokes and techniques that can be used in short or long massage sessions to stimulate or relax your baby. You also will learn to read your baby's nonverbal cues, when or when not to massage and basic developmental movement activities. Each pose is held for several minutes, which lets you relax with mental stillness and support. Zen yoga is a quieting, deeply nourishing practice that calms the nervous system. Restorative yoga uses blankets and bolsters to support poses helping to release deeply held tension in the mind and body. Pre-registration is required.
