Star fruit, lilies and white peach permeate the air with a hint of salinity. The flavors of white grapefruit and its zest are exciting on the palate. The clean and focused texture is augmented with hints of chopped chervil, cilantro and a thread of minerality. The acidity is mouth-watering. 92 TRINCHERO FAMILY ESTATES Napa Cellars 2016 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley ($17) A fragrant mélange of lime blossom, peach, candied pineapple and kiwi. Fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks, the liquid is lightweight with standout tropical-fruit notes. A creaminess on the mid-palate softens the mineral tones and works with a marvelous acidity. 90 TRINCHERO FAMILY ESTATES Landmark Vineyards 2015 25 Anniversary Overlook Chardonnay, Sonoma County ($25) From its canary-yellow hue to its nose of honey-butter, chamomile and melon, this is truly a "landmark" vintage for this wine. Forty-two individual lots were sourced from 24 vineyards throughout Sonoma County, aged for ten months in French oak (25% new) and fermented with native yeast for complexity. 2015 was the winery's earliest harvest in its 25-year history. On the palate, the graceful herbal notes of lemon verbena are soft and floral, with honey-nutty notes of lanolin alongside. Texturally creamy, with a cookie-batter quality, the wine is round and opulent with a toasty finish. 93 Provenance Vineyards 2016 Sauvignon, Rutherford ($25) With 5% Semillon and 1% Muscat blended in, this tropical scented dynamo from one of Napa Valley's premier sub-regions shows grace and body. White grapefruit and pear show themselves on the pal- ate, but pineapple plays an exciting role alongside a hint of oak. 92 TREASURY WINE ESTATES In each issue, The Tasting Panel's Publisher and Editorial Director, Meridith May, selects her favorite wines and spirits of the month. Check here for the latest arrivals in our offices, the hottest new brands on the market and an occasional revisited classic. Publisher's Worthy of a smooch. French-style double bizou. Wildly infatuated. Seriously smitten. Head over heels in love. PHOTO: DAVID GADD PICKS
