In addition, I use SketchUp for drawing and an app called Moodboard to lay out color palettes. RuPaul's Drag Race Oh. My. Gaga! Zaldy Goco (RuPaul) Although I have worked with technologi- cal advances such as designing a gown for the Met Gala with artificial intelligence, we really don't get too techy with RuPaul's wardrobe. It is pretty much old-school dressmaking, with drag queen shortcuts! Perry Meek (Lady Gaga) Technology has opened up a myriad of new techniques, fabrics, and ways to de- sign. For instance, new ways to light make custom materials more visible. Many fabri- cations that were once just for huge budget movies and projects are more accessible to all designers. Also, the internet is important for sourcing materials, ideas, and tutorials mean that now the sky is the limit in terms of bringing ideas to life. Now, if we could just figure out how to manufacture time! Hairspray Live! Mary Vogt Costume Supervisor: Carolyn Dessert-Lauterio The tech advances I use are the programs Photoshop and Painter. The heads are very important for sketches so I import pho- tos of my actors and use them to create sketches by importing a pencil-drawn sketch and painting in a combination of Photoshop and Painter. This saves a lot of time and helps in the design process be- cause you can easily make changes and see different options for color and shape.
