22 The Costume Designer Summer 2017 Big Little Lies You Get What You Need Alix Friedberg Costume Supervisor: Patricia McLaughlin Assistant Designer: Risa Garcia In the past few years, I have discovered Keynote, it's a wonderful program for doing a digital pre- sentation. I like to make look books for each char- acter. Keynote lets you import photos from any source, resize, recolor, change background colors and reorganize, without losing time. Also, I use it to organize fitting photos, to have a quick refer- ence on my laptop, and for printed books for the trailer. Gone are the days of sitting on the floor, cutting and pasting photos on foam core. Hurray! Empire Light in Darkness Paolo Nieddu Costume Supervisor: Mary Lane Assistant Designer: Jennifer Salim I would have to say I use shopping apps. I do a lot of online sourcing and shopping and am able to work so quickly this way, and grab inspiration photos too. Grace and Frankie The Art Show Allyson B. Fanger Costume Supervisor: Lori DeLapp Assistant Designer: Heather Pain I definitely use technology to create my presentation boards. They are 100 per- cent digital now. The format expedites delivery, is easier to reproduce, and has a cleaner look. Also, while I can create presentations for a lot of people at a time, it is still an intimate experience for the viewer. But, I am very interested in using technology with fabrications in the future.
