Logan's hideout was originally written as an oil refi nery but evolved into a smelting plant after location scouts found a wonderful abandoned
site outside of Deming, New Mexico (empty except for a dozen barn owls). It was not safe for fi lming, but the fi nished set, a converted water
well in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, captured the original's derelict quality effectively.
