149 2016 SUMMER CAMP Special Olympics Delaware's summer camp was set for August 6-8 and August 14-16 at Camp Barnes in Frankford. More than 120 Special Olympics Delaware athletes and 80 volunteer counselors were scheduled to attend the two camps (however, only the first session was held due to a period of excessive heat during mid-August.) Campers get the chance to participate in several traditional camp activities such as, sports, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, boating and crafts. They also get the opportunity to reacquaint with and meet new friends during the three-day, two-night camp experience. During the first session, forty high school student-athletes attended as part of their experience at the annual Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Leadership Conference, in addition to more than 25 high school and college students from around the state who volunteer as counselors. 2015-2016
