111 2016 PLUNGE WEEKEND FESTIVAL The 2016 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge weekend festival was held on February 5-7, with Saturday festivities that included the annual 5K Run to the Plunge with more than 900 participants. The weekend also featured ice carving demonstrations by local artists, in addition to hot wings and ice cream tasting activities (dubbed "Fire & Ice" and held at the Rehoboth Beach Fire House). The annual Restaurant Chili Contest also took place as twelve area restaurants competed for Best Chili awards. The festival offered family-friendly fun, involving downtown Rehoboth businesses who offer discounted menus and shopping, as well as children's activities. The weekend culminated with a celebration of the 25th Polar Bear Plunge on Sunday, February 7th in Downtown Rehoboth Beach. 5K Run to the Plunge Presented by Restaurant Chili Contest Sponsored by 2015-2016
