107 UNIFIED SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS The Special Olympics School Partnership Program brings students with and without intellectual disabilities (ID) together through sports, education and youth leadership to provide them with the knowledge, attitude and skills necessary to create and sustain school communities that promote acceptance, respect and inclusion. Formerly known as Project UNIFY, the School Partnership program promotes inclusive school communities through activities including Spread the Word to End the Word®, Unified Sports®, and Cool Schools at the Polar Bear Plunge. Unified programming in schools have also sought to create additional ways to get peers involved in unified training and competition, such as adding Unified team soccer in addition to Unified basketball and bowling competitions. Special Olympics Delaware expanded its relationship with the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association to, once again, offer Unified Track & Field as part of the DIAA State Track & Field Competition, and piloted Unified Flag Football in the 2015 season with the final game played at the University of Delaware football stadium at the DIAA State Championship. 2015-2016
