s relentless speed is now a hard stan- dard and the need to sculpt as we il- lustrate increases, we evolve from artists to technicians. The concept of speedball friction on coarse sketchbook paper is a sweet and distant memory. I am happy to have experienced the cycle and can't wait to see what the next decade brings. -Felipe Sanchez A s an illustrator, the joy of working with the gloriously talented Lou Eyrich to bring her vision to life on the page is a gift. Kathy Bates' costume needed to inspire not only the design of the garment but a ghostly char- acter, aged, incorporating layer upon layer of distressed fabric and texture in multiple muted tones. I treasure using every tool I have as an illus- trator.
