PEOPLE www.postmagazine.com 48 POST AUGUST 2016 DAMIEN VAN DER CRUYSSEN, NICK METCALF, DEE ALLEN The Mill (themill.com) has announced several changes to its global color grad- ing department, including the addition of two colorists — Damien Van Der Cruyssen and Nick Metcalf — to its New York studio, and the promotion of Dee Allen to group director of color. The Mill welcomes back Van Der Cruyssen following a two-year tenure at Company 3. He specializes in setting distinctive looks for luxury brands. Metcalf joins the team from Vision On, where he spent the last six years working with both fi lm and stills photographers to retouch and grade images for the fashion world. Allen moves up from executive producer of color to group color director, working alongside the managing directors and color EPs across all studios. JUSTIN WARIAS Philadelphia-based creative production and post company Monogram recently added commercial director Justin Warias to its roster. Warias relies on his background as a cinematographer and comedic sensibility and acute eye for casting to deliver clever- ly-constructed content. He received a master's degree in fi lm production from LA's Loyola Marymount University, where he was awarded the Ian Conner cinematography award. He began his career directing commercials for brands such as McDonald's, NFL, The ASPCA, Bioré, Doritos, Klondike and Post-It Notes. CARL GRINTER London production/post studio Nice Biscuits has added producer Carl Grinter to its team to spearhead the company's business development as it continues its expansion. Grinter brings a vast knowledge of visual eff ects and post, having spent over 25 years in the industry. He joins Nice Biscuits following a decade at Rushes Post Production. Grinter co-founded digital special eff ects and design company Gaul Bryers in the early '90s. He then went on to lead Red Post Production as their managing director, before joining Rushes in 2003. There, he was most recently a commercial director. DAVID COLE Senior colorist David Cole has joined FotoKem's creative services division, deepening the facility's DI talent bench. One of Cole's fi rst projects, based at FotoKem's Burbank headquarters, will be Legendary's upcoming Kong: Skull Island. Cole collaborated with director Peter Jackson and cinematographer Andrew Lesnie, ASC, ACS, on color for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. He later moved to LA and joined LaserPacifi c Media, where he was colorist on several Oscar-nominated fi lms. Most recently, at Modern VideoFilm, Cole was supervising colorist on The Book of Life and Eye in the Sky. He also created looks for TV's Sleepy Hollow and Scorpion. ED ULBRICH LA's Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. an- nounced that former Digital Domain CEO Ed Ulbrich has joined the company as president and GM, Deluxe Visual Eff ects, reporting to Deluxe CEO John Wallace. He will lead Deluxe's Method Studios and Iloura, and unify global VFX operations to extend the scale and capabilities of services for motion pictures and ad- vertising. Ulbrich will also drive and grow Deluxe VR, a dedicated unit leading the creation of virtual and mixed reality experiences. Ulbrich's producing credits include Ender's Game and he executive produced the Academy Award-winning visual eff ects for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Titanic and What Dreams May Come. HARDY PARUNGAO LA-based GPL Technologies has appointed Hardy Parungao to its executive team as CFO and COO. Parungao brings deep, executive-level experience in fi nance and strategic management across a range of industries. In his new role, he will work to expand GPL's footprint across North America and extend its leadership position in media and entertainment IT. His responsibilities encompass day-to-day operations, fi nancial management, strategic planning and human resources. His operation- al authority will cover each of GPL's operating units, which include managed services, infrastructure solutions, VFXnow and breed staffi ng. Over the past 10 years, Parungao has focused on spurring growth at tech companies involved in SaaS, HaaS, XaaS, eCommerce and sales to MSPs, VARs and OEM customers. ERIC GAMBINI VFX supervisor Eric Gambini has joined FuseFX Vancouver, to help the company service the region's boom in television production. Gambini has worked at VFX facilities around the world, most recently as on-set VFX supervisor on The CW series The 100. He began his career in France as a picture editor before coming to the US to join Digital Domain. As a camera department technician, he worked on several block- buster titles, including the original X-Men movie. He spent six years at Weta Digital in New Zealand, serving as an on-set TD for the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Avatar. In addition, he's worked in Singapore, Australia and Canada. ANDY SINGER Alkemy X welcomes Andy Singer as EVP of television and digital programming. Singer is a seasoned media executive who has developed and implemented multi-platform strategies for cable networks, inter- national brands and advertisers, and has managed creative teams and high-profi le network stars. Based out of the New York offi ce, he will work to continue extending the company's reach within original TV and digital content. Singer has had his work appear on A&E, VH1, Twentieth Century Fox, Fox News Channel and MSNBC.
