Amy Hoopes has been promoted to the role of President at Wente Family estates. In addition to overseeing all global marketing and sales operations, Amy's role will expand to include oversight of hospitality and retail operations. In his 15th vintage with the company, Karl D. Wente will new hold the titles of Chief Operations Officer and Chief Winemaker. His role will expand to include all of production, including vineyard management for estate vineyards. "My family is proud of what we have accomplished over the past 133 years, and we are committed to building the Wente Family Estates legacy for the next five generations," remarks Carolyn Wente, Fourth Generation Winegrower and CEO. "These two strategic promotions support our continuing commitment to the company's long-term vision to be one of the most respected wine compa - nies in the world." New Positions at Wente Family Estates Next January, the Naples Winter Wine Festival will welcome Bordeaux's Pierre Lurton as the Honored Vintner of the 2017 event, well known for running two of the most acclaimed wineries in the world: centuries-old Château Cheval Blanc and Château d'Yquem. He will be joined by revered vintners from around the world at the 17th annual Naples Winter Wine Festival, scheduled for January 27-29, 2017, at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, FL. At the Naples Winter Wine Festival, Lurton will share his knowledge with guests and pour some of his most lauded wines. No stranger to this event, Lurton has also made his mark on the Festival's greater mission, with two separate auction lots that included a private tour and tasting at Cheval Blanc and a special lunch with him at Cheval Blanc. Ticket packages to this exclusive event, limited to 580 guests, start at $10,000 per couple. A $25,000 package is also available that includes reserved seating for a party of four at a vintner dinner and under the tent. Reagan Rombauer Blackwood, grand- daughter of founder Koerner Rombauer, has joined Rombauer Vineyards as Assistant Regional Sales Representative, becoming the first member of the family's third gen- eration to be employed at the 36-year-old Napa Valley winery. In her new role, Reagan assists with sales- and marketing-related projects, as well as represents the winery at sales events, tastings and auctions in California, Nevada and the Southwest.
