Barrel- fermented in one- and two-year- old demi muids (600L). 98 Mas de Pampelonne 2015 Rosé, Côtes de Provence 60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, and 10% Tibouren Underripe raspber- ries, pink flowers and gravelly sand— it smells like the coast. The palate becomes more tropical with guava and plumeria; medium-plus weight to soften the pointed acidity. 92 JEFF WELBURN SELECTIONS Château de Pampelonne 2015 Rosé, Côtes de Provence 40% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 20% Syrah and 10% Tibouren Tart cherries, gardenias and almonds become cantaloupe and acacia finish- ing with salivating acidity and juicy red fruit. This is my kind of rosé! 94 JEFF WELBURN SELECTIONS Jessie's ("JABS's") Faves Château Gassier 2015 Le Pas du Moine Rosé, Sainte-Victoire, Côtes de Provence 40% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, 10% Rolle and 5% Ugni Blanc Raspberry sorbet, guava, blood orange, thyme and spearmint in a substantial medium plus body and almost creamy texture. Grown organically, this is my favorite of the bunch. 92 WILSON DANIELS Mas de Cadenet 2015 Rosé Saint Victoire, Côtes de Provence 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 10% Syrah I must be at a spring- time wedding—fresh strawberries, pink roses and Jordan almonds that finish dry and crisp. A touch lower in acid than you might expect but refreshing enough. 89 THE SOURCE EUROPEAN WINE IMPORTS Château Maupague 2015 Rosé Saint-Victoire, Côtes de Provence The earth and funk tip the scale, but the soft red fruits teeter in every now and then in this lighter-bodied rosé. 88 FAMILLE SUMEIRE Meridith's Not-to- Miss Rosés Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé 2015 M Rosé, Côtes de Provence 54% Grenache, 26% Cinsault, 13% Carignan and others Dry, flinty and pretty in pale salmon hue with pear and plumeria, from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. White pepper touches a cloud of raspberry and gracefully seasons lanolin. 93 DOMAINES ROGER ZANNIER Château Réal d'Or 2015 "Collection" Rosé, Côtes de Provence Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault Sandy pink, with dry peach pit bitters on the outside and a juiciness from within. Lemon meringue and white petals get the palate ready for a flinty, peach skin finish. 92 STATES VINS SELECTIONS Château Sainte Marguerite 2015 Cru Classé Rosé, Côtes de Provence 40% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 20% Syrah With its nose of peach pastry dough, and a round and broad texture, this wine speaks to the lavender fields with dry notes of peach and peach pit tannins. The tangy acidity keeps it lifted and bright. 91 DREYFUS, ASHBY Barton & Guestier 2015 "La Villa Barton" Rosé, Côtes de Provence 45% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 25% Cinsault Orange- pink with frizzy acidity, the juicy pear and apricot are set against a white and blue flower backdrop. A complex wet stone finish makes for a clean, dry—if not zesty and refreshing—finish. 90 B&G USA WILSON DANIELS Mas de Cadenet 2015 Rosé Saint Victoire, Côtes de Provence PHOTO: VENTDUSUD VIA THINKSTOCK More rosé is consumed in France than white wine—they consume it with, among other things, cheese and charcute- rie all year round.
