The Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival, held at the Newport Beach Civic Center, brings all that and more this year with their third annual event from September 29 to October 2, 2016, full of cooking demonstrations, wine panels and tastings and book signings. "Newport Beach has quickly become a destination not only for its beautiful beaches and lifestyle, but also for its incredible culinary scene," says founder and CEO Stefanie Salem. "We aim to bring together the best of our local food and wine masters, while also welcoming celebrity chefs from around the world, to create a four-day event that celebrates food, wine, culture and music." Master Sommelier Michael Jordan will lead the wine program for the festival, and fellow Master Somms Peter Neptune, Christopher Miller, Sur Lucero, Thomas Price and Seven Poe will join him for various wine panels through- out the weekend, including food and wine pairings. Although there will be over 200 wines available for tasting, along with their winemak- ers from wineries such as Hundred Acre, Veuve Cliquot and J. Wilkes, it's not just wines that will be getting in on the fun: Stella Artois, Duke Bourbon, Suntory Whisky Toki and Hornitos Tequila will also be on hand, mixing up cock- tails and providing beer tastings. A wine and spirits tasting wouldn't be com- plete without some excellent cuisine on hand, and the festival has that in spades, including an opening night dinner prepared by celebrity chef Rick Moonen. Local chefs from over 40 Orange County restaurants will also be hand to serve up tastings of their signature cuisines to festival-goers. "In our third year, we've taken guest feedback to make this year's event even bigger and better," says Salem. "Guests can get up close and personal with chefs and Master Sommeliers at our new series, Taste Around Town in partnership with SCANPAN, enjoy enhanced VIP experiences such as Champagne, caviar and 100-point wine tastings, while also enjoying gourmet bites and fine wines in our beautiful Grand Tasting Pavilions during the Daytime Festival." To top it off, all of the proceeds earned from the festivities go to a good cause, benefitting the Project Hope Alliance, an Orange County–based charity that provides support to homeless youth.
