18 NEWS NEWS GUILD GUILD NEWS The Makeup Show Gala Both acclaimed make-up artist Eugenia Weston and Local 706 President Sue Cabral-Ebert were honored during The Makeup Show gala at the Biltmore Hotel on March 18, 2016. Eugenia has been a pioneer in the cosmetics industry for more than three decades. Gifted with an incredible eye for facial structure and a remarkable sense of color and design, she began to create her inimitable make-up line concocting natural colors long before 'natu- ral' was in vogue. Fellow artisan Maurice Stein surprised Eugenia on stage with a beautiful commemorative statue congratulating her on SENNA Cosmetics leadership in the professional make-up industry (she had no idea she was being honored). Sue was presented a beautiful obe- lisk to congratulate her for her work on behalf of every- one in the entertainment industry who have benefited from the advocacy to bring work back to California (AB 1839). The Powder Group's Michael DeVellis and James Vincent, renowned make-up artist, presented Sue with her honor. Make-up artists from all facets of the industry were on hand to celebrate the work of these two women leaders. Top row from left: Eugenia Weston & Sue Cabral- Ebert; Eugenia Weston.
