For content creators active in the production and post production of films, videos and TV episodes, this means they can effectively stream VR content from their Scratch Web cloud-based Website through a standard browser to a Samsung Galaxy smartphone with the GearVR headset for mobile review and approval. Assimilate recently announced the expansion of its Scratch Web cloud-platform capabilities to offer the first professional, Web-based dailies/review tool for reviewing headset-based VR content. SGO GOES VIRTUAL WITH MISTIKA 8.7 MADRID, SPAIN — SGO (www.sgo.es) is announcing a number of new devel- opments to its popular HDR/HFR/VR-capable Mistika color/finishing system. According to the company, new feature set for Mistika will equip professionals with virtual toolsets and workflows. With an NAB focus on VR in post, SGO will reveal at the show 3D feature-sets, VR mode and VR device connections, depicting how Mistika provides color grading, HDR, stereo and compositing in virtual reality in just one system. Other key highlights include features to support VR project finishing, new color grading tools for HDR, all new keying functions, as well as a new, flexible conform system. With this new version, EditReady now integrates Divergent Media's ScopeBox software, providing filmmakers and editors with a single workflow to quickly and easily get footage from the cam- era to the editor, regardless of camera or file format. With support for all industry popular camera formats and editing formats, EditReady converts media for immediate preview and playback, lets users apply LUTs for color correction, view and edit metadata, easily convert between DNxHD and ProRes, and run simulta- neous batches, allowing them to generate proxy media or convert footage from different cameras. LINEAR ACOUSTIC UPDATES MT2000 PORTABLE MULTICHANNEL BITSTREAM ANALYZER LANCASTER, PA — Linear Acoustic (www.telosalliance.com/linear) is demon- strating the latest updates to its MT2000 Multichannel Bitstream Analyzer at this year's NAB. Featuring a full suite of test capabilities in a handheld form factor, the MT2000 allows engineers to analyze and troubleshoot digital audio paths quickly and portably. It is ideal for a variety of testing applications, including remote production, broadcast, cable, satellite and home theater. This portable diagnostic tool identifies input signal type, including sample rate, video format and frame rate, as well as error detection at the bitstream and AES3 layers. It supports two-channel and multichannel PCM, plus Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby E decoding, monitoring and analysis. The new software update offers a streamlined menu structure, automatic detection of input signal type, and now viewing of all 16 audio channels at once. In addition, the MT2000 can also analyze SMPTE 337 formatting, measure Dolby E guard band and line position, and display all the metadata contained in a Dolby encoded bitstream. In support of ATSC A/85 (CALM) and EBU R128 rec- ommendations, it also includes comprehensive ITU-R BS.1770-1/2/3 loudness measurement capabilities with user selectable Dolby Dialogue Intelligence.
