Spring 2016 | WEAnews 8 Great Things Happen Everyday Sponsored By The Wyoming Highway Patrol Pasqua Receives Kennedy Center Award Jason Pasqua, WEA member and theater professor at Laramie County Community College (LCCC), received an award for Achievement in Directing from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival for the theater program's recent production of Richard Dresser's "Rounding Third." "This play in particular had a bunch of people involved who had never been in a play before," Pasqua said. "So my job as director is to set up conditions to make things happen; you shouldn't be able to `see' directing." Pasqua's directing skills did not go unnoticed. Pasqua, who has been with LCCC for 11 years, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance from the University of Wyoming and an MFA in acting from the University of Idaho. The November 2015 LCCC production featured student actors Nick Wood and Daniel Johnson, both of whom received awards for their performances. The KCACTF, an extension of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, has grown into a network of more than 600 academic institutions throughout the country. The KCACTF honors excellence in overall production and offers artists individual recognition through awards and scholarships in playwriting, acting, criticism, directing, and design.
