Spring 2016 | wyoea.org 7 WEA members Julie Hoffman and Ben Evans lobby their home legislators, Representative Rita Campbell and Senator Eli Bebout. The Research, Bargaining, and Lobbying (RBL) Conference was held February 21-22 in Cheyenne, and had about 50 attendees. Two Republican legislators, Senator Jeff Wasserburger [(Gillette) and WEA member] and Representative Albert Sommers (Pinedale), visited with RBL attendees about Wyoming's fiscal concerns, as well as took part in a Q&A session from members. WEA President Kathy Vetter addresses the conference regarding assessment changes under consideration by the legislature, and about her time on the Assessment Task Force during the interim. WEA Vice President Grady Hutcherson visits with his home representative from Torrington, Cheryl Steinmetz. WEA member Michael Daley visits with Senator Bruce Burns in the Senate lobby. As part of RBL, the WEA encourages attendees to stay for the full conference in order to be able to lobby their home legislators Monday morning. WEA Government Relations Director Ken Decaria visits with WEA members in the House lobby, and gives them tips on how to best communicate with legislators.
