His heirs Stefano and Maddalena Riboli have always believed that passion isn't quite enough to run a successful business. You also have to work hard and lead by example. You have to do everything, and if you do everything, you will succeed. Stefano's son Santo, the winery's current President and Santo's son Anthony, Head Winemaker, along with Anthony's uncle Steve, the Vice President and aunt Cathy, who manages the on-site restaurant, all live by the example set by Stefano and Maddalena. Today, San Antonio Winery is one of Southern California's largest and the most awarded wineries—and the Ribolis have planned for major expansions in the coming years. Under the Riboli Family Wines parent company, their Stella Rosa brand of wines—produced in Piemonte with a highly aromatic and lightly effervescent style—are the com- pany's bread and butter. The vineyard is primarily planted to 1103P rootstock, which is highly suited to the dry, warm climate of Paso Robles. An array of clones, including ENTAV selections from France, are planted, along with several clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, namely 4, 15, 30, 47, 169, 412 and 685.
