MEIOMI TREATS ITS LOYAL CONSUMERS AS LOVINGLY AS ITS GRAPES by Jessie Birschbach N o, we haven't died and gone to heaven. The handsome men dressed in white looking after our needs aren't angels; they're spa attendants. Well, yes, touché, the wine we're drinking does taste like the nectar of the gods, but it's available here on earth—it's called Meiomi; and we're actually at the "Nouveau You Spa" event thrown by Meoimi at the historical Victorian-style Lombardi House in Hollywood, California. I shouldn't be surprised though; the invitation did promise "An Evening of Primping, Polishing and Perfect Pairings." I spoke with Meiomi Brand Manager Tanya Beers, who offered a touch more detail on the event. "We developed unique treatments with our chosen spa partner that speak to the three distinct regions of the grapes used in the wine's tri-appellation blend: from exfoliating foot rubs that speak to the rich texture and earthy qualities of the Monterey grapes, to 15-minute aromatherapy massages utilizing the bold and expressive spices of the Santa Barbara region, to a luxe man- icure with colors of the Sonoma region." The event was catered by a celebrated wellness-focused L.A. caterer, Heirloom Catering. Guests left with food pairing tips along with the perfect Meiomi Pinot Noir bottle, packaged as a spa good.
