There is one particular
honor that transcends any one
artistic endeavor, however,
and it's always a highlight of
the ceremony. That's the Life
Achievement Award, which this
year goes to the incomparable
Carol Burnett for her body of
work as a comedic trailblazer,
actor, singer, dancer, producer,
author and humanitarian.
Burnett will be officially
introduced as the 52nd recipient
of the union's top accolade
during the SAG Awards
ceremony, adding the award to
her well-deserved array of other
honors, which include multiple
Emmys, a special Tony, the
Presidential Medal of Freedom
and both a Kennedy Center
Honor and its Mark Twain
Prize for Humor. (Read more
about the exceptional Burnett
on page 55.)
The 22nd Annual Screen
Actors Guild Awards will be
simulcast live on TNT and TBS
on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
PT / 8 p.m. ET. TBS and TNT
subscribers can also watch the
SAG Awards live through the
networks' websites and mobile
apps. In addition, TNT will
present a primetime encore
of the ceremony immediately
following the live presentation.
Viewers can also enjoy
— and participate in — the
SAG Awards' lively social
media presence, and since
the ceremony is nationally
simulcast live, there's no fear
of spoilers posted by people in
other time zones.
Remember, every SAG-
AFTRA member whose dues
are paid up through November
2015 is eligible to vote. (Also
remember, union dues do not
support the SAG Awards.)
There's still time to vote online
or by mail for those who have
requested a paper ballot, as
long as the vote is received
by the SAG Awards election
firm by Jan. 29. Full details
regarding how to vote and the
process in general can be found
on page 17.
