"On behalf of students and edu- cators, thanks to all out there who worked to support a bond or over- ride this election," says AEA Presi- dent Andrew F. Morrill. "Thanks to all who voted in favor of providing funding to the students in our schools. To those who were unsuccessful this round, remember how many districts have had to go out to voters more than once to fi nd success. Rest but don't quit – you are your students' champions." Hundreds of AEA members walked neighborhoods and made phone calls in support of local bonds and overrides this past summer and fall. Local associations partnered with students, parents, and community leaders to create a landslide victory of 90 percent of the school funding measures this year. Many members participated in the an- nual Education Day of Action on October 10, which is a big push to get out the vote as early ballots arrived in mail boxes. These efforts were key to schools getting their overrides and bonds passed and more money to our students.
